Ms. Mary harper Davis

Funeral service for Ms. Mary Dean “Duck” Harper Davis 75, of Lanett, AL will be held at 1:00 PM EST Saturday, February 8, 2025 at Rehoboth Missionary Baptist Church 206 Huguley Road Valley, AL. Her body will lie in state one hour prior to the service. 


Bishop Donald Lancaster, Eulogist and Pastor Karanja Story, Officiating.


Public visitation will be held on Friday, February 7, 2025 from 2:00 – 6:00 pm EST at Morgan & Sons Funeral Home in Lanett, AL.


Ms. Mary Dean Harper Davis was born on September 11, 1949 in Cusseta, AL to the late Jessie and Ella Mae Harper. She was called to rest on Sunday, February 2, 2025 at her residence surrounded by her loved ones.


Mary accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Hall Memorial CME Church. She was affectionately known as little sister "Duck" by family and friends. 


Throughout her career, she worked for West Point Pepperell and Valley Bowling Alley for many years. She remained a dedicated hard-working employee until her retirement. After retiring, she was a faithful member of the Lanett Senior Citizen Center until her health began to decline.


She was preceded in death by three siblings, Margaret Diane Phillips, Willie Pearl Henderson, and Jessie Lewis (Po Boy) Harper.


She leaves a lifetime of memories to her only child Lucretia (Trisha) Watson, six sisters, Ella Pearl Simpson, Salem, AL, Patrice Ann Hennings, Buffalo, NY, Gloria Jean Reid, Valley, AL, Belinda Marie (Mahone) Davis, Powder Springs, Ga, Elvira Anita Grady, Atlanta, Ga, and Donna Michelle Core, Valley, AL; two brothers, Nathaniel Harper, Valley, AL, and Micheal (Turwanza Harper), Lagrange, Ga; two grandchildren, Octavious Watson, Clevland, OH, and Omia Watson, Valley, AL; one great-grandchild, Shadow Jones, Valley, AL; one goddaughter, Keichianna Core, Valley, AL; two special friends, Jason Hudson and Amos Moody, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
