Ms. Emily James Evans Hill

Ms. Emily James Evans Hill entered into eternal rest on Monday, May 4, 2020. Affectionately known by family and friends as Ms. Emily, she was born on August 8, 1935 in Lafayette, Alabama to Jim and Alice Evans.  

A lifelong resident of Chambers County, Ms. Emily was the youngest child of five who was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Mattie, Ocie, and Julius.  

Ms. Emily leaves to cherish her memories three children: George Wesley Hill (Mamie) and Mary Nell Morgan of Lafayette; Catherine Emily (preceded in death). One sister Jimmie Lue Mcfarlin of Lafayette; five grandchildren: Jessica, Trey (Angela), Greta , Joshua (Raven), and Matthew Austin (preceded in death); six great grandchildren: Jalen, Joshua Jr., Alexis, Cayla, Paige, and Matthew; the Lewis and McClendon families, special friends Lillie Mae Story, Annie Hughley, Charlene Holloway and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, church family and friends.

Due to current social gathering restrictions, a private graveside service will be held on Friday May 8, 2020 at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery, LaFayette 11 a.m. CST with Rev. Gary Dixon officiating.
