Ms. Cornelia Dejuana "C.D." Morgan

Funeral service for Ms. Cornelia DeJuana "C.D." Morgan will be held at 2:00 p.m. EST Thursday October 6, 2022 at New Dimensions Worship Center, 5610 20th Ave. Valley, AL 36854 with interment in Pine Hill Cemetery, 2167 22nd ST. SW Lanett, AL. Bishop Donald Lancaster will officiate.

Ms. Cornelia “C.D.” Morgan was born on September 15, 1973 to the late Mr. Prince Henry Morgan Jr. and Mrs. Cornelia Ware Morgan. On Sunday, September 25, 2022, their beautiful baby girl departed this life in Birmingham, Alabama.

Ms. Morgan confessed Christ at an early age and joined Love Union Baptist Church. “C.D.” as she was affectionately known, was raised in West Point, Georgia until her family relocated to Ramsey Bottom. She was a proud member of Valley High Class of ’92. She obtained her certificate in Welding from J.F. Ingram State Community College. Anyone who knew her knew she was outspoken, outgoing, and loved life. Her smile was big but her personality was bigger.

She was preceded in death by her father Prince Henry Morgan Jr, two grandmothers, Mattie Brown Ware and Glover Morgan; an aunt, Lottie Brown Morman; and a brother-in-law Bobby L. Truitt Jr.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories: her mother, Cornelia W. Morgan, Lanett, AL; five children, Shequita Morgan, Dervoski Morgan, Tywanda Morgan, all of Lanett, AL, Yashameka (Octavious) Summers, Valley, AL, and Arneshia Morgan, Lanett, AL; five granddaughters, Akeelan Morgan, Ava Morgan, Emersyn Jackson, Ar’monie Morgan, all of Lanett, AL, and Kamayian Summers, Valley, AL; five grandsons, Aiden Morgan, Demarion Morgan, Deonta Morgan, Dylan Morgan, all of Lanett, AL, and Octavious Summers Jr., Valley AL; two sisters, Sawanda Morgan Truitt and Kelli (Walter) Huguley both of Lanett, AL; two brothers, Kevin Morgan, Lanett, AL and Rev. Prince H. Morgan III, Macon, Ga; three special friends, Sonia Warren, Lanett, AL, LaToya Pollard, Lanett, AL, and Sharon Barber, Dothan, AL; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Family hour will be from 1:00-2:00 pm EST Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at Morgan & Sons Funeral Home. Followed by public viewing from 2:00- 6:00 pm EST. Her body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service.
