Mrs. Carmen B. McCoy

The funeral service for Mrs. Carmen B. McCoy, 69, of West Point, GA will be held at 1:00 PM EST Saturday, September 12, 2026 at Goodsell United Methodist Church 1007 N 6th Ave, Lanett, AL. 


Rev. Kelsey Barnes, Pastor/Officiating.


Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery 1400 Austin St. 

West Point, Georgia 31833.


Visitation is open to all family and friends beginning at 11:00 AM EST Saturday, September 12, 2026 at Goodsell United Methodist Church.


Carmen B. McCoy was born on August 4, 1957, in Valley, Alabama, to the

late parents Sammie & Sarah Baker. She departed her life on September

8, 2026, at Wellstar West Georgia Medical Center in LaGrange, Georgia.


In early adulthood, Carmen confessed her faith in Christ at Goodsell

United Methodist Church in Lanett, Alabama. She received her education

in Lanett public school system and graduated with the Class of 1975. 


She married the love of her life Richard in 1981. Together they shared 45

years of love and companionship, and into this union they were blessed

with one son Richard Julian McCoy. She cherished her role as a wife,

mother, sister and grandparent. 


Carmen’s work ethic was strong and loyal. She retired from Capital City Bank, West Point Georgia where she began working in 1981 until retirement. She loved opening her home to others and using her creativity to love and serve.


Carmen leaves to cherish her memories: a devoted husband, Richard

McCoy of West Point, Georgia; a loving son, Richard Julian McCoy

(LaRaven Huguley) of Lanett, Alabama; a cherished granddaughter,

Ja’Miya McCoy (Desmond Dean) of LaGrange, Georgia; her three sisters,

Sarah L. Baker and Leta F. Baker of West Point, Georgia, and Sandra

L. (Charles) Bagley of Lanett, Alabama; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Savannah (Archie) Randle and Mattie L. Lewis of Meridian,

Mississippi, Willie C. (Ora Nell) McCoy of Vicksburg, Mississippi, Gloria

McCoy, Donald Wayne (Nellie) McCoy, and Yvonne (Rodney) Williams

of Meridian, Mississippi, Michael (Carlissa) McCoy of Collinsville,

Mississippi, and Shirley Clark of Meridian, Mississippi; and a host of

cousins, nephews, nieces, family and friends.
