Mrs. Bobbie Lane Greenwood, affectionately known as "Sis," "Mommee," and "Auntie," entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at her residence, surrounded by her family.

Born on December 17, 1930, to the late LaRue Sr. and Daisy Lane, Bobbie lived a long, meaningful life defined by grace, compassion, and love. She was a truly kind-hearted and gentle soul whose warmth left an enduring impression on everyone fortunate enough to cross her path.

Bobbie shared 74 wonderful years of marriage to her beloved husband, Godfrey. Together, they built a devotion-filled home and raised a large, tight-knit family. She was the proud mother of nine children: Barbara, Shirleye, Michael, Sandra, Joyce, Gregory, Marjorie, Jacquelynne, and Ericka (Jarquez).

A dedicated worker with a strong work ethic, Bobbie was employed at Cohen’s Dept Store and at Lanett Mill for over 25 years before her retirement. Deeply committed to serving her church and community, she was an active member of the Que Vive Civic Club and served as a Girl Scout Troop Leader. At Goodsell United Methodist Church, she served faithfully across numerous ministries, including the Kitchen Committee, the Women’s Choir, The Young At Heart, the Wesleyan Service Guild, the Amanda Reese Circle, and as Director of the Methodist Youth Fellowship Group.

Above all, Bobbie’s greatest joy was her family and friends. She loved to cook and bake, frequently demonstrating her affection through home-cooked meals and baked treats. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing and cherishing moments surrounded by those she loved. Her quiet strength, generous spirit, and loving presence will be deeply missed and forever cherished.

She was preceded in death by three children: Ronald Bernard, and two infant children; two brothers: Charles Lane and LaRue Lane, Jr.; and one sister: Geraldine Burton.

Bobbie is survived by her nine devoted children; 16 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; her sisters, Margaret Edwards and Mable Bishop; an adopted son, Johnny Hill; special caregiver Linda McCullough, as well as a host of loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
