Funeral service for Mr. Oscar Lee Bailey Jr., 76 of Lanett, AL will be held at 2:00 PM EST Monday, June 15, 2026 at Saint Paul A.M.E. Church 1415 North 6th Avenue Lanett, AL 36863.

Oscar Lee Bailey Jr. entered into this life on September 25, 1949 in Chambers County Alabama. The first child of Annie Pearl Moore. He was adopted by Mr. Lucius and Mrs. Mary Ann Martin Bailey.


Our Heavenly Father called upon him on Monday June 8, 2026 at East Alabama Medical Center – Lanier in Valley, Alabama.

At an early age, he accepted Christ as his personal Savior and was baptized at Saint Paul A.M.E. Church in Lanett, Alabama; where he faithfully served the Lord as an usher and superintendent. 


Throughout his career, he worked at Langdale Mill, Fairfax Mill, Carter Mill, and the Towel Warehouse. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1968 to 1969 and was honorably discharged for medical reasons. He was a dedicated man who cherished his family and exemplified a lifelong commitment to service.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Annie Pearl (Pete) Moore and Oscar Lee Bailey Sr.; adopted parents, Mary Ann and Lucius Bailey; brothers, Titus Corvette Bailey, Douglas Lynn Moore, Arthur Moore Jr.; sisters, Brenda Dianne Scott and Mary Lois Moore.


He leaves to cherish his precious memories: brothers, Elder Clarence Scott, Lanett, AL, Bishop Kelly C. Moore Moore Sr., Beaufort, SC, and Rev. Dr. Keith (Suezett) Moore, Mobile, AL; sisters, Barbara Louis Davidson, Birmingham, AL, Martha Elaine Moore, Opelika, AL, Gloria Ann (Gabriel) McCant, Valley, AL, Tangela (Dimas) Hall, West Point, Ga; special devoted friends, Bernice Marbury, Deontra Marbury, Oscar Davis, Malcolm Malon, Jimmy Jackson, Ralph Culwell and a host of nieces, great nieces, nephews, great nephews, other relatives, and friends.
